Bristol International Airport is to get improved links to some of Spain's most popular destinations, it has emerged.
Operator Teleticket is to begin flights from the airport to Tenerife, Las Palmas and Lanzarote from next year, following growing demand from travel agents in the south-west.
Managing director of the firm Neil Chapman noted that "if initial sales are successful" the company could introduce more frequent flights in the future.
He added that the company was "delighted" to begin operating these flights, which may be of interest to those living in the south-west considering purchasing overseas property in Spain.
A recent Alliance & Leicester survey found that the Spanish weather is the main draw for British expatriates who have relocated to the country.
The study revealed 92 per cent of those questioned found the weather to be Spain's biggest attraction, while 69 per cent stated they enjoy a better quality of life than they did in the UK.
